Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency - is a digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography and blockchain technology to secure and verify transactions and control the creation of new units, often designed as decentralized and open-source systems that allow for peer-to-peer transactions without intermediaries. One of the key features of cryptocurrency is that it is pseudonymous, meaning that transactions are not linked to real-world identities. Instead, transactions are identified by a unique public key or address. Each crypto is verified by a network of computers, known as nodes, and is then added to the blockchain.

Bitcoin, created in 2009, is the first and most well-known cryptocurrency. Since then, thousands of other cryptocurrencies have been created, including Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash, among others.

You can use crypto for a variety of purposes:

  • Means of payment;

  • Store of value;

  • Speculative investment.

Prices of cryptocurrencies can be highly volatile and fluctuate widely based on market demand and supply.
